Even a simple civil ceremony in Venice will take on an aura of grandness as you step into the sun with the Grand Canal stretching out at before you. A decorated gondola can take you to your reception, or start partying on the vaporetto with all of your guests. There are a number of great hotels, in this unique city, but the Gritti and the Danieli are the most legendary. Both have indoor or outdoor  seating for your reception. The Gritti, especially, will evoke the history of this town with its stunning antiques and upholstery. If your wedding is in summer, and you wanted a reception venue that has local flavor, the Osteria Boccadoro restaurant will seat you all outside and regale the party with fresh seafood and pasta.

So sit back and discuss Italy together, any plan you choose will be just as good you expect it to be.
