Weddings in Croatia

Don’t overlook Croatia as your wedding destination, it is off the beaten track for sure, but this European country can satisfy any bride looking for a Mediterranean climate, plenty of islands (over 1000) and worthwhile visits to ancient ruins, busy cities or national parks. There are any number of ideal locations: Cavtat has a sheltered bay with a stone church right on the water,  sailboats moored along the side. Split has been a popular location since Diocletian built his palace here in 305 AD, and this tiny peninsula can offer an historic setting with daytime beach culture, nightlife, and great hotels. Hardwood floors and white furniture contrast well with the old stone buildings at the Divota Apartment Hotel. You can set up your base here as you get everybody together for the celebrations. The Vestibul is another option for accommodation with ultra modern interiors in an old stone palace. There are several good restaurants available as reception venues, for example an indoor or outdoor reception can be arranged at Sumica, with fresh seafood and a romantic atmosphere. Restoran Boban is another choice, possibly the best food in town, with a more club/pub atmosphere.

Dubrovnik or Ragusa, two names, for one magnificent costal town. Deep clear inlets, sandy beaches facing warm stone streets with terra cotta tiled rooftops. The entire area is a UNESCO world Heritage site, and its the perfect destination for your wedding. The Pucic Palace is probably the most complete venue in Dubrovnik, you can contact them, and allow them to help arrange everything from the arrival of the guests to the cake cutting. The island of Hvar is much like taking small European villages, and positioning them on a Greek island. The water is so clear you can hardly see it, and it laps right up on the streets and squares of towns that will draw you into them through the winding streets with shops, delis and markets. The Riva Hvar Yacht Club Hotel is a venue smack on the water, and has its own nightclub right there. They can help get your wedding going all night long. If you were looking for a location with amore relaxing atmosphere, the Vila Braka Perla Hotel on the island of Brac is a stone complex in a natural Mediterranean setting, bringing everything down to stone, sea, and air. Sometimes it is worth stepping on to the road less traveled.
